Lesson 1 – Learn the Technique

* Introduction to Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP)
* How to read an FPP pattern
* Fabric placement and grain
* Sewing accurately on the paper
* Trimming and pressing
* Begin your leaf-shaped placemat

Lesson 2 – Complete Your Placemat

* Continue piecing the leaf design
* Joining sections accurately
* Final trimming and squaring
* Add borders, if desired
* Finishing and preparing your placemat for quilting

Requirements for the course:

• Cutting mat (Can be purchase day before or on the day)
• Rotary Cutter (Can be purchase day before or on the day)
  
• BYO Sewing Machine with Manual and new 80/12 needles (Or you can hire 1 of ours)
• 1 ring binder -20 Plastic Sleeves (for you class notes)
• 1 pencil
• Fabric
